Closing our doors - life at home for Perkins Bar & Bistro part 1

It’s a moment you never want to happen.

After making the announcement that we were going to be closing our doors throughout the Coronavirus pandemic, we headed in to do a final deep clean to ensure everything is left sanitised and polished to perfection (so the job when we return is not as big).

Normally, this is all rather labourious - it was for this time around as well, but this was overwhelmed by the muted feeling amongst us all.

For over 38 years, we have been incredibly proud to be a hub of gastronomic experiences to our local community and the wider Nottinghamshire area. But for the following few months, we won’t be able to do that, and we’ve got to get used to staying at home.

The advice is crystal clear, and you must follow it. Stay home. Stay safe. And we hope that with this weekly blog, we can give you a unique insight into our story - one that many restaurants are going through right now.

We’ll tell you all about what we’re up to, now that we’re living life with a closed restaurant, balancing our time between work and family at home. We’ll show you how we’re staying active in these times, what we’re cooking, basically anything to share our journey with you.

We’re doing this because we are all in this together, and we need to talk openly about how we’re feeling... and as a business, we want to continue to serve the community to the best of our ability, so do send us ideas on what you’d like for us to write about.

With all of that in mind, it’s time for us to sign off and we’ll speak to you this time next week.
